At the Foot of the Cross
The promises of God are great; they abound in the Bible from beginning to end. As a Christian, one of the greatest joys is the promise of Heaven, a place where God will be with us. He will wipe every tear from our eyes, take away death and mourning, crying and pain. In Heaven, a special place is prepared for each and every believer in Jesus Christ.
This a free gift from God; His unconditional love for us could be shown in no other way. However, it requires we recognize that we cannot make it alone, through our own efforts. Sin really does split our relationship with God. The Bible tells us that when we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.
Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
Are you ready? You can begin your personal relationship with Jesus and secure your place in Heaven by praying to God simply and sincerely.
"Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from You. Thank you that Jesus died in my place and rose again to be my Savior. Starting right now, I turn from my sin and trust Jesus to forgive me. Please come into my life and lead me. Thank you for giving me a relationship with You forever. In Jesus' name, Amen."If that is the prayer of your heart, you can know these things:
- God will never leave you.
Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) - God completely forgives your sin.
He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2:13,14) - God guarantees that you'll go to Heaven.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13) -
God gives you the Holy Spirit to help you live the Christian life.
"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you." (John 14:15-17)
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6-7)
We urge you to let Christ be Lord. Learn everything you can; study the Bible, pray, get involved in church. Obey God in every area of your life; He knows what is best! Rely on the Holy Spirit and decide to be like Jesus Christ, for it is then that we find true purpose in our lives.
